Lumineers and BriteSmile have increasingly taken the limelight in the Hollywood scene. Lumineers are simliar to traditional porcelain veneers made in the dental laboratories, lumineers are however made thinner and are thus sometimes known as contact-lens porcelain veneers. BriteVeneers are lumineers from the BriteSmile.
The main advantage of lumineers is that lumineers are so thin that little to no tooth reduction is necessary and can simply be placed over existing teeth. At the same time, lumineers are resist microleakage and microcracking compared to dental bonding
Lumineers are a safe, painless and easy way to almost permanently correct yellow or discolored teeth, chipping, gaps, and misalignment or cover teeth that have been damaged following the same concept to that of dental bonding and porcelain veneers.
Lumineers treatment takes at least two appointments visits.
During the first appointment, your cosmetic dentist preps a very thin layer of the teeth surface to prepare and enable the lumineers veneers to be bonded on (if required). For certain selected case, no tooth preparation is done. An impression of teeth is then made that is used to fabricate the lumineers.
During the second appointment, your cosmetic dentist evaluates the shape, size and color of the delivered lumineer with you before they are bonded onto teeth surface. Teeth is cleaned and the lumineer cemented to teeth surface. The cement is then cured using a light catalyst to allow the lumineer to be securely bonded into place.
Other commonly done treatments in cosmetic dentistry related to Lumineers includes:

- Dental Crowns
